Merideth M. Wendland, MD, is the Director of Radiation Oncology at WVCI. She joined WVCI in 2006.

Dr. Wendland is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist with clinical expertise in Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), gynecologic implants and MammoSite partial breast irradiation.

In addition to being the chair of the US Oncology Neuro-Oncology Research Committee (a member of the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group), Dr. Wendland has participated in extensive research activities, which have been the basis of numerous publications in journals such as Cancer, American Journal of Clinical Oncology, Neurosurgery and Journal of Neuro-Oncology.

Dr. Wendland received a bachelor's degree in biochemistry in 1997, graduating magna cum laude from Seattle University. She earned her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 2001 and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national honor's society for medical education. She completed her internship at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington, and completed her residency in radiation oncology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where she served as chief resident.
