Glenn S. Buchanan, MD, is a board-certified Medical Oncologist at WVCI. He has a special interest in lung and gastrointestinal malignancies, but treats patients with all types of malignancies, as well as benign blood disorders.

"I feel that the most important goal of any cancer treatment plan is quality of life, both during treatment and after," Buchanan says.

Dr. Buchanan is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and has been with WVCI since 2003. He is encouraged by the potential for significant changes and improvements in treatment strategies within the area of medical oncology.

"Patients have benefited from many such developments over the past decade," he says. "I anticipate that the next two decades will be even more exciting."

Dr. Buchanan earned his medical degree from the University of Utah College of Medicine in 1998, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Oregon Health & Science University in 2001 and went on to complete a medical oncology fellowship at the University of Utah in 2003.

Dr. Buchanan enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He is fluent in Spanish, and his hobbies include running marathons, cycling, playing the piano and writing alternative song lyrics.
