Willamette Valley Cancer Center Announces New Name and Location

Eugene, Ore. - Willamette Valley Cancer Center has changed its name to Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center (WVCI) and will open the doors to an additional location on the campus of PeaceHealth's Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend this summer. WVCI will also continue to operate at 520 Country Club Rd., Eugene.

The institute's new 21,000 square-foot facility will occupy the fifth floor of the RiverBend Pavilion in Springfield. The new location will allow for an expanded research program, four medical oncologists and associated services. The Country Club Road office will also welcome new technology including Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT).

"This is an exciting time for our patients and staff," says David Fryefield, WVCI medical director. "And our new name more accurately reflects the added capabilities we will have in our RiverBend facility."

Since 1997, WVCI has provided state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer care and is the only full service cancer center in the region.
